The classic time for an exhibition opening; plenty of time to come straight from work but not so late that you tire before you make it; a respectable hour for a drink and a chat but time enough for something more substantial to eat at home and a hot choc before bed; late enough in the week that a social outing is called for but not such a big night you feel shabby for work the next day.
All that and a chance to see art! There are no excuses...
